Aadhaar is a 12 digit unique identification number issued by the UIDAI (Unique Identification Authority of India) for the citizens of India on behalf of the Indian Government.
UIDAI which issues Aadhaar cards to people is backed by the government. And its main motive behind it is to focus on the poorer or economically backward communities of India. It also aims at bringing majority of the poorer sections of society under the scheme so as to enhance delivery of services to the underprivileged.
Over the last few months, Aadhaar has become one ofthe most important documents to have and though it was initially argued that the mandatory provisions were for welfare schemes; however it has been extended to more essential services. Hence, it is important to apply for one as soon as possible.
There are different ways to download Aadhaar card. You can download Aadhaar card using your Aadhaar card number as well.
Steps 1 –Visit official page of UIDAI https://eaadhaar.uidai.gov.in/#/
Step 2 –Fill in the form displayed on the screen and download Aadhaar Card by using Aadhaar card number
Step 3 – Fill in details such as your Aadhaar number, Full name, Pin code and then enter text displayed above image
Step 4 –Click on “Get One Time Password” or OTP on your mobile number which wills take1 to 3 minutes
Note: [you will receive OTP only on the mobile number that connected to your Aadhaar card]
Step 5 –Enter your OTP in “Enter OTP” input box and click on validate and download button in order to download.
Step 6 –Your PDF file for Aadhaar card will start downloading and only you can open the file because that file will have a password
Also note that the drive which has the file is password protected and the password is your Pin code.
How to print Aadhaar Card?
Once you have downloaded your e – Aadhaar card, you can also print it. In order to print your card, you are required to first open the downloading file using the Acrobat Reader in PDF format. Once the file has opened, you can click on the print option present on the file menu of Acrobat Reader.
The process of printing an original and duplicate Aadhaar card online is the same. In case you have lost your Aadhaar card, then you can print a duplicate card by the steps mentioned above. And in case you have lost your Aadhaar number or enrolment ID, you can get it online on the website of UIDAI.
As there are many ways to download Aadhaar Card such as one can download Aadhaar card by providing Name and date of Birth, you can also download Aadhaar card by providing Enrolment Number (EID). Keep your acknowledgement slip carefully as you can find these numbers on acknowledgement slip which you have received at the time of getting your Aadhaar card.
